Work experience

2020 — present

Bengaluru

Urban Company & Native

SVP, Native & Design

Joined again because the job was not finished. We revamped the biggest services marketplace of the country to become simple. Very simple. Went from designing screen to designing objects to build Native - Urban Company's first-ever line of hardware products. Sketches, engineering, design. The three things that reminded me why I fell in love with design in the first place.

2018 — 2020

Mumbai

Cuddle.ai/ Fractal Analytics

Head of Design & Data Visualisation

Cuddle was trying to do something rare: turn enterprise data into a Google-like experience. I joined to head design and data visualisation. We made an app where users could ask questions in plain English and receive instant, contextual answers powered by machine learning. My job was to simplify everything: analysis, dashboards, and data so anyone could understand data and on their mobile. We launched apps, improved adoption, and shaped what BI could look like for non-analysts.

Led analytics & data visualisation to build the first-ever mobile app that felt like Google for enterprise data.Designed AI-driven tools that helped business folks ask better questions — without needing a data science degree.

Also got really good at translating machine learning into human-speak (and surviving it).

2016 — 2018

Gurgaon

Urban Company

VP, Design

My first stint with Urban Company (Urban Clap in those days). Zero-to-one days of hustle, building the design team from ground-up for services. What feels so obvious with on-demand services felt like an impossible problem statement in 2016. Changed the way I look at services wherever I go.

2016 — 2016

New Delhi

Intelligent Interfaces

Co-founder & Head of Data Visualisation

We wanted to build Tony Stark's Jarvis for the largest organisations of India. We didn't succeed. Got exposed to some of the coolest things possible if one were to entertain imagination.

2015 — 2016

Mumbai

Housing.com

VP, Design

From data collection that would power the rich insights for buyers & sellers to creating the most intuitive real-estate browsing and purchase platform, I learned more about how people think about houses before they make it their homes in just one year. Also, a roller-coaster ride.

2014 — 2015

Bengaluru

Fusion Charts

Head of Design

I fell in love with data visualisation here. Built some of the most satisfying things mixing social media design patterns and boring data visualisations. This built the foundation for me to understand data like a designer.

2012 — 2014

Pune

Fab.com

Product Designer

Built apps and first true transition from a developer to a designer. Award winning apps, complete e-commerce learning and understood what it takes to continuously improve a single product for years.

2011 — 2012

Pune

Kria Interactive

Founder

My first 'start-up' where we built games, websites, web apps, creative merchandising for some of the biggest brands of the country.

2010 — 2011

Mumbai

Raa Studios/Gozoop

Creative Head

Started as a PHP developer and quickly graduated to do all things from talking to clients to designing to building to testing to shipping the final product.
