A five-axis arm folds completely flat into a 7.98 cm tall chassis, then unfolds to pick up socks, tissues and small objects under 300 g and carry them to a set drop zone. The transferable trick is packaging a manipulator inside an existing envelope with zero height penalty, so an appliance can occasionally 'act' without changing its footprint.
